10.3 million people in the world are employed in the field of the renewable energy. Like in previous years, the leading markets for alternative electricity are China, the USA, Brazil and India.
Asian countries particularly contribute to the development of renewable energy, creating strong production opportunities, as well as providing support in the form of new tariffs and privileged credit and land policies. As a result, 60% of jobs in the field are created in Asian countries (compared to 51% in 2013).
62.2% of employers in the field of Renewable Sources of Energy are directly or indirectly employed at solar power plants, 14.7% – at hydroelectric power stations, 11.2% – at wind power plants, and the remaining 11.9% are employed at biomass, biogas power plants and power plants of other types.
