Prices and volumes of electriCITY brought by PRODUCERS on the Wholesale Electricity Market (WEM)

According to data from SE Energorynok, the average sales price of electricity (e/e) on the wholesale electricity market (WEM) by producers increased by 18.3% (by 207.8 UAH/MWh) in April 2018 compared to April 2017.

The average sales price of the e/e on the WEM by the National Nuclear Power Generating Company (NNPGC) “Energoatom” has grown by 12% – up to 548.1 UAH/MWh, by the thermal power plants (TPP) by 9.8% – up to 2,156.6 UAH/MWh, by the renewable sources of energy (RES) by 6.8% – up to 5,410.9 UAH/MWh, by the thermal power stations (SE TPS) by 0.6% – up to 1,933 UAH/MWh, while hydroelectric power stations (HPS) and hydroaccumulating power plants (HAPP) decreased the price by 53% – up to 311 UAH/MWh.

Over the period under review, 11,025 KMWh of electricity were brought on the WEM by generating companies, of which 47.5% were sold by the NNPGC “Energoatom”, 29.7% – SE TPS, 14.2% – HPS and HAPP, 6.1% – TPP, 2.5% – producers operating under “green tariff”.

According to the calculations of the “Magonova & Partners”, SE TPS received UAH 6,342 million, NNPGC “Energoatom” – UAH 2,870 million, producers operating under “green tariff” – UAH 1,477 million, TPP – UAH 1,438 million, HPS and HAPP – UAH 487 million for the sold electricity.

It is to be recalled that since May 2016 the “Rotterdam+” formula has been used to calculate tariffs for SE TPS, but it has been criticized by Ukrainian and foreign experts.
